GEOFF Burch is without doubt one of the most humorous business speakers around, although the competition is admittedly thin.
In this clip he’s cracking a gag, albeit one whose punchline contains a business message: that command and control management is not good for employees, so cannot serve the interests of existing or potential customers or clients.
Burch explains further: “It may be a joke, but the wider point is that bosses often fail to share the bigger picture with their people.
“Command and control no longer works. Every manager needs to sit down with their people, exchange ideas and clearly explain goals.”
